Red Cross to Honor San Joaquin County Heroes | Moms
On Wednesday, April 11, the American Red Cross will be honoring 16 San Joaquin County community members who have performed extraordinary acts of courage.
These outstanding individuals will be recognized at the annual Heroes Breakfast at Wine and Roses in Lodi, from 7:30 to 9:00 am.
Tickets are $65 and proceeds support the critical disaster relief services the American Red Cross Capital Region Chapter provides to the community. A service that is used an average of once every 21 hours. Funds will also support as training programs that help prepare community members to respond in times of emergency or disaster.
News10's Tim Daly will emcee the event and help recognize these heroes in several categories including Animal Rescue, Good Samaritan (youth and adult), Law Enforcement, Medical Professional, Military, Professional Rescuer, Spirit of the Red Cross, Workplace and Hero of the Year.
The American Red Cross shelters, feeds and provides emotional support to victims of disasters; supplies more than 40 percent of the nation's blood; teaches skills that save lives; provides international humanitarian aid; and supports military members and their families. The Red Cross is a not-for-profit organization that depends on volunteers and the generosity of the American public to perform its mission. The Capital Region Chapter serves an eleven-county region including Alpine, Amador, Calaveras, El Dorado, eastern Nevada, Placer, Sacramento, San Joaquin, Stanislaus, Tuolumne and Yolo counties.
