PATTERSON, CA - A man was shot and wounded in a carjacking just outside of Patterson Monday afternoon.

The victim's condition wasn't known. Stanislaus County sheriff's spokesman Sgt. Anthony Bejaran said he was flown by medical ambulance to a hospital.

The carjacking was on the 2600 block of Orange Avenue, Bejaran said. Deputies were dispatched at 1:05 p.m. When they arrived, they found the victim next to a cornfield.

Bejaran said the carjackers took the victim's green SUV, a 2007 Toyota, California license plate number 6AND659.

Investigators didn't have a description of the carjackers.

Bejaran said investigators don't know why the victim was targeted.

Anyone who sees the Toyota SUV was urged to call 911 and not approach the occupants. Authorites consider them armed and dangerous.

Ripon, CA – A 62 year old Ripon resident was recently scammed out of $8,000 dollars, when she sent money to the Dominican Republic.  She received an official looking e-mail, that included official looking symbols, purportedly from the Food and Drug Administration.

The e-mail advised her that she was under investigation.  The investigation regarded federal court proceedings in the Dominican Republic.  She was advised to send thousands of dollars to the D.R. as part of a plea bargain deal.  She was advised that she was under surveillance, and if she didn’t pay the money, she would be arrested. 

After sending an initial $2, 000; the suspects demanded more money.  A total of $8,000 was sent by the victim.

SACRAMENTO, CA - It continues to happen.

Three individuals were arrested Thursday on suspicion of identity theft and burglary after a month-long investigation in which detectives with the Sacramento County sheriff's hi tech crimes unit uncovered credit/debit card skimming devices, thousands of credit card numbers, hundreds of bogus California identification cards and numerous counterfeit credit cards.

Sacramento County sheriff's Deputy Jason Ramos said most of the skimmers were found on gas station pumps, with the devices undetectable on the front of the pumps. The pump 's front panel would have to be opened to reveal the device, which is easily installed and doesn't set up any kind of alarm and doesn't disrupt service, Ramos said.

Booked into custody on $2 million bail each were suspects Gagik Verdyan, 34; Mihran Hakobyan, 27; and Karine Khachaturyan, 20.
